I got banned from the audio portal bc I forgot to give credit to kawaisprite on a remix I posted and I'm sad. well, I think that's the reason. mods can you give me a detailed reasoning for my ban?

Well I mean you basically answered your own question. You failed to provide credit to the original artist/author and someone reported you for using audio/samples you do not own the rights/license too. Asking the creator of the music or properly crediting your material helps in the long run. Also there is a rule in the audio portal about rules on remixing, and if it sounds like whatever you made than it most likely was taken down for that. Sorry to hear you were banned from it, though.

the thing is i dont know if that's the real reason

@ClunkyDot @funnimonke Was that the only song you submitted? if it was than it seemed likely to be the source as to why you were even banned to begin with.

no i posted a roses remix and got banned

@ClunkyDot @ClunkyDot and i posted a blammed remix and didn't get banned

@ClunkyDot @funnimonke @funnimonke Honestly, I wouldn't know than. Definitely contact an audio mod and ask. My guess would be your blammed remix wasn't flagged and or WAS properly credited, but the roses one wasn't and also got flagged. Either way, it's just better to be vigilante and be ontop of getting permission and providing credit as well as being aware of what you are adding/making a song/remix out of, ya know?

I can think of two possible things:

1. Checking the licensing terms on KawaiSprite's submissions, you will usually see these:
"Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details."
or
"You may only use this piece for commercial purposes if your work is a web-based game or animation, otherwise you must make specific arrangements with the artist."

It could simply be that KawaiSprite does not want his works to be remixed.

2. It could also be that the remix was too similar to the original, sometimes that can lead to a song being removed.

You said posted a blammed remix and didn't get banned, remember that Newgrounds is manually moderated. It could've just been that a moderator didn't check you submission yet.

But if you really want to confirm and make sure, then yeah, you can probably PM an audio mod and ask.
